I've been remiss in writing a review, should have done it a long time ago! We picked up our latest "projects for Cliff" yesterday, and this particular one brought tears to my eyes...in a good way. This is my Grandpa's Springfield Savage Arms .410 . We should have taken before pictures from home, but Cliff sent us this one that he took. It's been sitting for more than 30 years. He went through it, then restored it, and it looks absolutely beautiful. Frankly, I expected no less, because everything he's done for us and other family members has been absolutely stellar - and he's done quite a variety. His talents and knowledge are a rare blend of history, appreciation, workmanship and artistry. Getting this one done also sparked conversation with my aging parents, and I learned that Grandpa was a crack shot! Highly recommend Lone Star Gunsmithing and Cerakote!!

Cliff's shop was very clean and organized. You could sense the pride in his work as he showed me around and walked me through his processes on the various services he offered. He managed to squeeze me in during random Thursday to make sure I have the new suppressor ready muzzle break installed and ready for the range this weekend.
I urge you to check out his website and Facebook page to see his full body if work- some of these guns are absolutely breathtaking. Thr man is an artist and a craftsman.

Lonestar Gun Smith is probably the diamond in the rough. If I wasn’t needing an FFL and wanting it to be close I never would have found Cliff. I took Criss a 100 year old Remington model 24 ( childhood gun) and asked if he could get the rust off and put a new finish on it.
Wow! Cramped, accent trigger, cleaned and oiled, and he even reconditioned the walnut furniture!
It is absolutely beautiful. He’s certainly not the cheapest gun smith you can find but he IS a craftsman! I could not be happier!!!

There is NO BETTER PLACE to send in your 1911! Cliff is an absolute perfectionist like nobody I've ever seen! Look at the Cerakote job he did (photos attached)! PLUS, my thumb safeties and grip safeties were a mess when I sent it in, no audible click, etc. and a crappy 5lb trigger pull...it's perfect now! I'm getting right around 2.5 lb trigger pull with my Wheeler gauge, safeties audible click, etc...he even included what is now the nicest coaster in my house!!!

I recently had my rifle Cerakoted, and I couldn’t be happier with the results. The craftsmanship is absolutely top-notch—clean lines, even coating, flawless finish, and great attention to detail. The rifle looks better than the day I bought it.

This guy took my Colt All American that had a broken rod that rendered the firearm useless, and custom made a new one for it. The firearm is better than new again. This is a common problem with that model and no one could or would take it in to their shop for repairs. I had several tell me they would not work on that specific model. Lone Star not only took it in he took his time and custom made the part with raw materials and his lathe. He treated my gun as if it was his own and took great care of it. He spent the time to spec out the exact part and built in there in his shop. This man is extremely knowledgeable, very professional, straightforward and one heck of a nice guy. I have a few guns that my 25 year old son owned and left behind when he passed away that I want some custom work done on in his memory. I would not trust anyone else but Lone Star with his firearms. This man doesn't give up when it gets hard, he takes the time to figure it out and fix it and delivering high quality work at an extremely reasonable price. If the parts are not made or available anymore he will make it for you better than factory original. Exceptional work by an Exceptional man. He is a small business and believes in taking care of the customer. I own a small business too and understand how hard it is to make people happy/ satisfied in today's time. I would definitely recommend anyone needing work done on any firearm. This man is very trustworthy.

Let me start by saying that I'm not used to such great service and quick turn around when it comes to gunsmith work! I sent a 1911 to Cliff that had a HORRIBLE trigger in it. It actually averaged right at 8lbs on a pull gauge. Cliff received it on a Monday, did an amazing trigger job, and repaired another issue with it and had it back on Fed Ex headed to me that same week!!! I had requested the trigger be around 3lbs when he was finished... and the final product averages 2lbs 15.5 oz without any creep what so ever. I'm literally digging through the gun safe trying to find something else to send him!

This wasn’t just a “get your gun fixed and leave with a business card” kind of place. Cliff doesn’t just do phenomenal work—he makes you feel like you matter. My shotgun, the one I’ve hunted with for over 20 years, meant just as much to him as it does to me. The barrel needed some TLC I didn’t even realize it needed, and Cliff, with his heart and dedication, took the time to come up with a solution. He and his wife used the Glavo laser to make a custom shim and brought my shotgun back to life so I didn’t have to retire it.
On top of that, my Kimber .45, which had been left out in the weather, was fully restored—safe, efficient, and ready to carry again.
If you’re looking for a gunsmith who truly cares and treats you like family, I can’t recommend Cliff enough. He’s not only a master at what he does but also a fellow brother in Christ—a true light in the gunsmith world.

My experience with Cliff was incredible! I had an upper receiver with a 10.3" barrel that I wanted swapped for a 14.5," and a muzzle device pinned and welded. He was very helpful in offering information to consider for caliber, barrel length, shootability (especially being a lefty), range/accuracy, etc., and we had a game plan in the same day I brought it in. I had expected a fairly long wait time, but it was done within a few days of dropping it off.
While other gunsmiths often nickel and dime their customers to death with small charges, Lone Star Gunsmithing and Cerakote does not do that. All charges were laid out plainly and were very fair. I will definitely be contacting this place again in the future!

Cliff did an amazing job on 3 different rifles for me .One he did some smith work. One had major corrosion. He was able to clean it up and get it back to almost new condition. One was just very old and needed a deep clean . He completely disassembled all 3 guns and they looked incredible when done. He did a black Cerakote finish on one of them. I am extremely pleased with the results . He was very knowledgeable on all three guns . I would absolutely recommend him for all your gunsmith or Cerakote needs .
