Custom Cerakote Service In Princeton Texas

Cerakote is a ceramic-based epoxy activated heat cured coating that protects metal firearm components from a multitude of damage. It withstands abrasion, impact and chemicals. It is also resistant to corrosion and rust.

Near Lake Lavon just South of Princeton, Texas sits a gunsmithing and metal finishing operation that caters to those who are looking for the best in custom gunsmithing and Cerakote services; Lone Star Gunsmithing and Cerakote. Its ethos is deeply rooted in Texas pride.

Customization

Unlike other gun finishes like powder coat or anodizing, Cerakote can be applied in many eye-catching colors. It’s also safe for your weapon, environmentally friendly and comes in a variety of camo patterns to help you blend into your environment.

Whether you’re looking to protect your duty firearm or make a one-of-a-kind carry handgun, cerakote can be applied on nearly any metal or polymer furniture component.

Before applying cerakote, Cliff Diseker thoroughly disassembles each pew pew to be coated and wipes it down and bathes it with a degreaser to remove oils. The parts are then blasted down to bare metal and cleaned again. Next, the pieces are sprayed with Cerakote and baked in a custom built oven depending on the product; metal is baked at higher temperatures than polymer. Once cured, the pieces are ready to be reassembled. The process usually takes 10-14 days depending on work load.

Durability of Cerakote

Cerakote coatings are a tough ceramic polymer that adheres directly to the material surface. They are able to withstand high temperatures, chemical exposure and extreme environments that would degrade the underlying material. This makes it ideal for firearms, sporting equipment and industrial products that see frequent use.

With a variety of colors and patterns to choose from, it’s easy to make your weapon stand out. It’s also a great choice for small parts like triggers, pins and takedown levers that are easily lost or misplaced.

Corrosion Resistance

Cerakote can withstand chemicals that would otherwise damage your firearms and other products. This makes it a great option for gun parts that are often exposed to solvents like WD-40, paint thinner, mineral spirits or denatured alcohol. It also withstands corrosion from exposure to salt and other environmental factors.

Aside from providing durability and corrosion resistance, a cerakote finish on firearms can add a splash of color to your weaponry. Cerakote can be applied in a wide variety of colors and can be layered to create designs that are unique and eye-catching.
